You have my permission...

We live in a world where we are constantly being inundated with more and more and more information.

It's hard to know what is true and what is bullshit.

As women in our 30s, 40s, and beyond we’re constantly hearing conflicting information. We're told that we MUST do all of these things in order to feel better in our bodies, stay healthy as we age, and meet our fitness and nutrition goals....

  • Lift heavy shit
  • SIT and HIIT workouts
  • Split training programs for upper and lower body
  • Intermittent fasting
  • Separate strength and cardio days
  • Core workouts with crunches
  • Going to the gym 6 days a week
  • And where does barre, yoga, pilates, and OrangeTheory fit in?

No wonder we feel confused, overwhelmed, and exhausted 😵‍💫

This is one of the reasons I firmly believe that 3x per week full body strength training sessions are the way to go for busy women. When you choose body part splits and life gets in the way, you can't be consistent.

When you prioritize total body strength 3x a week, even when you miss a day you are still consistently hitting all the major muscle groups and getting better results in less time. Full body exercises also help us in REAL LIFE movements, like picking up your kids, hauling groceries inside from the car, and getting up off the ground as we age.

You probably know what I'm going to say next: This is the Move Your Body way. Full body workouts 3x per week. No bullshit.

You have my permission to ignore the bullshit

As women we are often high achieving people pleasers, trying to do ALL THE THINGS perfectly ALL THE TIME. So many of us have that little voice inside our heads that tries to convince us that we're not worthy (and our workouts won't count) if they don't align with some external definition of success.

We tell ourselves if it's not sweaty enough, or long enough, or hard enough, it doesn't count. If we don't have the right thing to wear or the right equipment or the right class or our kids are interrupting us, we're failing somehow. Listen to that. It's NOT TRUE.

Repeat after me:

  • Staying consistent is what matters MOST, especially when time is short
  • 10 MINUTES IS BETTER THAN NO MINUTES
  • It’s OKAY if I can only complete a couple sets of each exercise
  • It’s OKAY to use just my bodyweight or a light weight
  • It’s OKAY to skip an exercise that doesn’t feel good in my body
  • I’m not a failure if I only complete the warm-up
  • I don’t need to be dripping in a puddle of sweat for it “to count”
  • I don’t need to record the workout on my fitness tracker for it to count
  • You have my permission—MY ENCOURAGEMENT— to do any or all of these things

I encourage you to download these affirmations and stick them somewhere you can see them, and then pass them along to a friend who needs to hear it, too 💛

Join a community of like-minded women who live this every day

Even if we're getting it done naked in the bathroom (💃 😂), the women in Move Your Body are sharing ways to stay consistent, ignore the voice in our heads, and hold one another up in the process 🫶

You've got about 24 hours left to get started with a 14-day free trial (that's two weeks free).

XOXO

This past week I sent my 7 and 9 year old off on their first day of 2nd and 4th grade. The bus came back, they got off safely, and I was able to exhale a little. Not every mom was that fortunate. It’s no wonder moms are anxious—it’s hard NOT to carry unnecessary tension in our bodies! If I could teach all women ONE thing when it comes to strength training and their pelvic floor, it would be how to hinge well. Why? Because when you learn to hinge… You protect your low back (instead of...

If you’ve ever thought… “Why does my back ache after squats?” “Why am I leaking when I deadlift heavy?” “Why does my core still feel weak even though I’m strong?” The missing link isn’t MORE core exercises. It’s HOW you’re breathing and how your ribcage + pelvis are stacked when you move. Here’s the breakdown (and I’ve got 3 short videos for you below to SHOW you what I mean): 1️⃣ Your ribcage + pelvis have to STACK. If they’re out of alignment, your diaphragm can’t do its job and your core +...

A couple weeks ago, I joined my good friend Jordan Syatt on his podcast. And the response has been incredible. Women from all over have been writing in to share their stories: “I almost cried a couple times. I felt seen.” “I finally feel encouraged that I can improve things without having surgery.” “Listening to you made what I am experiencing feel less humiliating.” “I’ve been trying to keep up with everyone—and that’s exactly what got me here.” “I have been having so much trouble with...
