Foot stuff = butt stuff. I've been saying it for years 😂 — and here's how I learned it, in my own body. Growing up I played soccer and lacrosse, and I rolled my ankles A LOT, way more on my left than my right. Didn't think much of it. Taped it, kept going. Fast forward: two vaginal births, and I could never fully relax the left side of my pelvic floor. Same side. Coincidence? Not even a little. After kids, for years my left side was the story, tight, locked down, compensating. Left hip pain, chronic constipation and an ass that looked like a pancake. Things felt off and I couldn't pinpoint why. What finally moved the needle wasn't more hip thrusts with a band pushing my knees out, squats or heavier weight. It was finally taking a look at my FEET. As I taught my feet to move again, to pronate, to spread, to actually sense the ground, I started gaining internal rotation at my hips and FEELING my glutes supporting me again. Suddenly my body felt like it was working the way it was designed to. I can jump with EASE without knee pain now. And it feels springy and powerful, not full of effort to get off the ground. Here's why I'm telling you this, because I see it in so many of the women I work with, and maybe in you: Maybe you've got high arches. Maybe you rolled an ankle years ago and forgot about it. Heck maybe you have even had big toe or ankle surgery 10+ years ago that you never actually got good PT for. Maybe you can never find a solid "tripod foot." And maybe, no matter how heavy you lift or how many glute exercises you grind through, your butt stays tight, flat and just won't grow, and your body feels MEH after you lift. That's not because you're not working hard enough. A muscle has to lengthen before it can contract. If your feet are stiff and locked, your glutes never get into a position to lengthen and load — so they can't grow, and all that force gets dumped into your low back, your hips, your knees instead. But when you get your feet moving, actually connecting to the ground and doing their job, everything above them can start to WAKE UP. You feel your glutes for the first time in forever...WITHOUT A TON OF WEIGHT. Your hamstrings turn on. Your back and hips stop taking the hit. And that stubborn booty finally has a foundation to grow. Your body isn't broken. 💛 You might just need a new approach, one that starts at the floor. Don't Forget Your Feet is Pillar 3 inside Strong AF Foundation, and it's a fan favorite, because you can FEEL the difference immediately. Feet, locked inside your shoes at the gym or in a fitness class, are the most ignored piece of the whole chain. And here's the honest reason coaching in real time changes it: you can watch every foot drill I post (please do!)… but you can't see your own foot compensating. That's what the 1-1 assessment and our weekly live coaching are for — me looking at YOUR feet, YOUR body, catching what you can't possibly see. Want to try it yourself? Here's the foot drill I start my "tight feet" women with 👇 video The next cohort kicks off September 14th — small group, so spots are limited. Waitlisters get first dibs + an early-bird discount when doors open 👉 get on the list XOXO, P.S. Before you go — I'm planning my next workshop and I want your help shaping it. Hit reply and tell me: what's the ONE exercise where you just can't feel your glutes, no matter what you do? Squat? Deadlift? Lunge? Step-up? Tell me what's frustrating you most and I'll work it into the workshop, plus I'll tell you if your feet might be the missing piece. |

Can I be real with you for a second? It is SO easy to lose yourself in motherhood and a career. The working-and-momming, working-and-momming loop just… swallows you. And somewhere in my 40s, I caught myself wondering: who the f*ck even am I anymore? Here's what I remembered: I've been an athlete my whole life. Sports are how I've always connected with people—it's where I feel most like ME. So this year I did something just for me and picked up a paddle. 🎾 Honestly? Best decision I've made all...
Some of you this will speak to. Maybe even for. Today my youngest turns 8. EIGHT. I'm in my feels, so I am going to write from there. Fair warning: some of you might not love what I'm about to say. But I have a feeling that for others, it'll speak to you, maybe even for you. That's who I'm writing to today. Here's something I don't say out loud often: I was NOT the girl who dreamed of getting married and becoming a mother. It wasn't even on my radar. I thought I'd have a life full of the...
I have shared this before but back in the winter, I was feeling pretty meh. (As often happens during those cold, dreary Massachusetts months!) Momming and running a business online can feel lonely AF at times, and now that my girls are a bit older, I actually have more time for myself—but I wasn’t sure what to do with it. So, I signed up for group pickleball lessons at NEPC Middleton. I’d never played pickleball or tennis before, but I figured, why not give it a shot? I’ve had SO MUCH FUN and...
